    • 4 slices of crusty sourdough bread or country baguette

    • 1 fresh tomato

    • 4 slices of pickled cucumber

    • 2 hard-boiled eggs

    • 4 butterhead or iceberg lettuce leaves

    • 1 tablespoon of butter

    • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

    • 1 tablespoon chopped chives

    • Pepper and salt to taste
